Beauty and the Beast Musical + Fruits Tarts + Movies Spree

Am having 2 weeks Christmas and New Year break so it would be illegitimate to not update my blog post!
Beauty and the Beast was always one of my favourite childhood Disney's series. I watched it several times already and it conferred me different feelings when watching at different age. First time watching, I enjoyed only the animations and the colour the whole movie since I was too young to understand the plot. Second time, I finally comprehended the storyline and daydreamt myself as Belle and have such romantic lovestory. Third time, I began to admire the music, the songs and the singing of the characters. In fact, the routine happens for every other Disney movies such as Lion King, Tarzan, Little Mermaid etc etc.

And this time, I grabbed the chance to catch the tale as old as time by way of ....... musical performance! Yes! Beauty and the Beast Musical in Sunway Lagoon's amphitheater!! Bought the musical tickets from the ticket booth set up in my University with the student price of RM53 instead of RM90. My friends and I were just too crazy over a musical show as we never watched any before hence made a rush decision to buy the tickets right from the booth especially when the promoters told us that they set up the booth ONE AND THE ONLY ONE DAY >.< In fact, after buying the tickets then only came to our noticed that actually Groupon selling cheaper price with RM93 for 2 tickets and also come to our shock to know that that Sunway Uni and Monash Uni student could have special student price as low as RM25. WTH we were all students but received such unfair treatment from different Uni =.=

20 Dec. The duedate of the last assignment of the term. The day before the doomsday. A very good way to kick a start to our midsem break by way of fairy tale's musical. Headed to Sunway Pyramid right after the class at 5.30pm and we had our window shopping and dinner before the musical at 7.30pm.

With Jia Jia and Christie.

My most natural looking when eating Moo Moo Cow Yogurt. Mmmmmm

Arrived in Sunway Lagoon punctually at 7.30pm and there was a shuttle tut-tut car picking all the audiences to the amphitheater as it was quite a distance to there. How thoughtful <3 p="p">
Our exciting look on the ride of the tut tut car.

Camwhole was strictly forbidden but Christie managed to snap some photos of the show secretly.
We were sitting on the right side middle row of the seats  but the view to the stage was still perfectly fine.

All the vain pictures of ourselves before the musical starts and during the 10mins break in the middle of the performance!

Right from the beginning, the curtain raiser of the symphonies was so melodious and impressive that had blown my soul away, to say nothing of the moment when the vintage rhythm symphonies serenaded with the dulcet singing of the cast members. The sound wave formed surrounding the amphitheater, was a total ears enticing. I still remember how full emotions the beast singing the song Go the Distance, how heartbroken and I was so into the character until tears almost ran down my cheek. Besides the classical songs like Tale As Old As Time, Belle and Be Our Guest, I was amazed when they also twisted in a number of modern pop songs such as LMAO's Party Rock Anthem, Lady Gaga's Born This Way and even Psy's worldwide smash hit Oppa Gangnam Style complete with dance ensemble performed by the character of Gaston, the beast's love rival, if u remember the movie well. His hilariously boorish antics onstage was a big hit making all of us laughed put loud and indeed warmed up the atmosphere in the theater. Do u still remember the talking teapot teacups, clock and candle? Yes they all came to life and warmed the inner child of me. Although after the 5 mins break in the between of the musical, the storyline in part II appeared to be a little dull and boring, but the show ended perfectly with the rhythmic Christmas theme song with all the cast members wearing white and red costumes. Even there was bubbles and fake snow popping out to everywhere of the amphitheater which even brought up the Christmas atmosphere to the max! Just imagine that =D

Pictures found from the web and collaged by myself =D

24 Dec 2012 Drooling Fruit Tart Dessert

Christmas eve was spent fruitfully with my dear Shu Hui making fruit tart. It was relatively easy to make the fruit tart but we used more than 3 hours to finish making due to the limited size of the oven we using which restricted to bake 10 crusts each time and each time needed about 20 mins to bake. So we managed to make about 60 fruit tarts which meant we baked 6 times and 6 times 20 is equal to 2 hours of baking. Well it wasn't a disadvantage for that because when the crusts were baked in batches means that if there is any failure in baking then the failure will be restricted to that particular batch of crust. And that's why u can see the different level of darkness in the crust. Add on the time of the crust making, putting into the tart cups, cutting the fruits and putting on cream etc etc making 3 hours passed quickly. Indeed, making fruit tart together will definitely be carved into my one of the best memories we had and this will definitely not the only one time we doing this =D
I was over the moon when my mum praised for the good looking and the tastiness of the fruit tarts XD

27 Dec 2012 Movies Spree Day

Angel, Shu Hui, Kristin, Anqi and Me
It was quite a rare opportunity that 5 of us sharing the common school holidays to have gather and hang out together since all of us studying in all distinct institutions.

Little things that we had together. *Stole with permission from Angel's instagram.

2 shinny girls had to wear sunglasses to avoid over-sparkling to others. LOL

 All pretty young ladies! =D

Yes we watched 2 movies in a day. Maybe a little crazy doing this as if we had nothing else to do but indeed we did not know what to do other than watching. Melaka shopping isn't a good place to shop from my point of view.
Jack Reacher was not bad lar even though it was not up my expectation because I thought the it was an action movie since Tom Cruise is the leading role. I expected to be as good as Mission Impossible 4. Nevertheless, it's still a good detective film if you bring along ordinary level of expectation to watch this =)
Les Miserables.... no other word else can be more appropriate to describe the movie than MUSICAL.
Again I thought the movie will be like Burlesque which the storyline is about singing. Les Miserables is NOT talking about singing but a story of a pathetic man who was just released from 5 years imprisonment for stealing a loaf of bread by way of singing. All the communications were by singing. What impressed me most was that all the cast members were singing in live, wonder how much effort and time they had contributed to the movie. Must bear with the long duration of the movie cos I felt the movie would not be ended until the next when I was watching lol. I like Anne Hathaway's role so much and I am looking forward for her to be nominated and awarded for the role in the movie =) .

Last but not least, goodbye 2012 and I'm going to Singapore one day trip in less than 4 hours time =D

A Thousand Years Pt 2 - Christina Perri (feat. Steve Kazee)

Finally I found a new suitable song to insert into my blog. *NAW U SUPPOSED TO SAY U FINALLY UPDATE YOUR BLOG!* Whatever, I admit just too lazy to upload due to the amount of assignment I have. I will rather go enjoy myself first or sleep first when I got time.

I love this song very much but it's not because I like Twilight. I don't watch Twilight at all, saved for the first one. I don't really know why but maybe the facts that the vampire has such a thick makeup that I can imagine once the film director shouts "Cut!" he will immediately take out a makeup sponge with a mirror from nowhere and start refining his makeup.
Yes Im saying Robert Pattinson has such a glastly pale complexion that is irritating me. No offence, am just expressing my feeling. That's why I don't watch Twilight after the 1st one. I'm not a bitch who don't like the movie yet still goes on watching and keep criticizing it all the from the beginning to the end. Ok I just realized I digressed too much from the subject.

I was so amazed when I first heard A Thousand Years 2 being sang with guy duet cos this was totally what I thought of when I was in love with A Thousand Years 1. I was even searching in youtube if there is any cover sang by duet. The lyrics is so meaningful and beautiful. The piano and guitar music accompaniment of the song just making the song such a subtle relations and so much imagination space such as a confession, a proposal, a wedding ceremony in a church, or when couple dancing on the dancing floor...........................

There were somethings that once baffling me almost totally on the past few days but fortunately all well ends well. Maybe too much assignments and studies that will kind of making my thinking more pessimistically when something unexpected happen abruptly. All work and no play is sucha shitty thing.

Have been trying so hard to lose weight yet my weight still hanging there after losing down just only 1.5kg. Although family and friends saying I look slimmer now but I still feeling myself a fattybuff. My butt and thighs are still full of fat. Haiz. So tempted to buy the slimming pills in the Watson last week but i just afraid it will ineffective and only wasting my money. So demotivated until losing confident on the slimming pills pula.

Watever! I still have my faith in losing weight one k! I really enjoy exercising and especially when I give myself 2 options either go jogging or studying at home I will even exercise more aggressively haha! Be optimistic la 1.5kg is rather than nothing right?

YES it's stop raining and I'm ready to go jogging to JIAN FEI now! See ya=)

I don't want to mention anything that IT IS 121212 today cos it's too mainstream.

Those days

I know I'm blessed to be born and brought up in my family.
And being the youngest in the family I concede it brings so much benefit.
This is best reflected when go for a trip.
The youngest one always don't have to pay up almost anything. *giggle*

Been to Genting Highland with my eldest sister and parents during the 3 days break last week.
Credited to my dad's friend, Uncle Yong who was so generously provided us rooms for free in Highland Hotel, the most luxurious hotel among all!
Well but he did not burn his fingers by doing that since he has thousands of points accumulated from gambling which he couldn't able to finish spending in Genting.
On top that, I savored the most delicious steamed fish in my life by Uncle Yong's lunch treat.
The fish was so fresh that even meat tasted like toufu, or even smoother than toufu, not exxagerated.
That's why the fish costing RM25 per 100gram.
And guess what, the fish we ate was about 1.3kg. So u can estimate the price.
And hence, it was also the most expensive lunch that I ever had which almost RM1k, only my family 4 person eating, Uncle Yong didn't eat at all since he said he was full.
Yes you're right, he treated us such expensive meal yet he starred us eating.
I did not snap the pictures of the dishes cos it was quite shameful to do so. It would be like red-neck and my dad would reproach me for doing such childish act in front of him.

Anyhow I don't know why I don't take much photos in Genting though.

I like the feels in this photo.

 Alike much?

We don't know there is such a huge and beautiful temple in Genting until we were drove by free shuttle bus to here!
Studying with him. Pls bless me smarter =P
It was also the 1st time that I managed to step into Genting casino even though I had went to Macau casino.
It's impossible to sit on the sidelines of the casino, especially after you sneaking around and stalking the gamblers winning money.
Both my sis and I had particularly the most interest in the Roulette Wheel as this can earn more than 10 times if you win.
And here the story of not listening to old words and lose out in front.
She took out 100 bucks.Which can only change to 4 chips as each chips costing RM25.
My mum asked us to buy 31 as it was the last 2 no. of our room number 9331.
We never listened. I've forgotten what we put our chips on and it turned out to be 31!
Nevermind. In the 2nd round my sis asked me to put a chip in between of 19, 20, 22 and 23 in another roulette wheel table.
Then she went away to another table to look at other game.
My mind was like putting on a strain when the dealer spinned the ball and the wheel.
And I murmured in my heart that the game would be pretty pls.
The chill sent up through my spine when the ball dropped on no.31 again.
BOOOOM! I could imagine myself being striken by thunder heavily.
3rd attempt. A feeble attempt.
My sis asked me to put the chip on 31.
It ended up on 14. Which is the number right beside 31.
This was seriously when life gives you lemons.
4th attempt. Well u already knew the ending.
100 bucks all donated to Mr Lim's fund.

Hey 4 chips is just too little!
How can minimal amount of a chip be rm25??
It should have RM5 for a chip like the one in Macau and I swear I will throw money out of myself if it were so.
At least I can play 10 times with 50 bucks but not only 2 times.
I know I sound like inveterate gambler here.

Don't ask me what I did in Genting spending 2 nights there cos I also don't know how I went through that.
I did not go to Theme park as I think I'm too old for that.
I just lost my excitement with roller coaster and all that stuff.
Shopping, strolling with the cold wind breezing, eating...
Yes, when you are bored, you tend you feel hungry and you will eat.
Yes I concede that I ate a lot in Genting.
Dim Sum, nasi lemak, Bak Kut Teh, Sardine, Ice-cream........
OMG my diet plan failed gao gao.
We actually parked our car at cable-car's car park and we transported with cable- car.
Not the st time doing that though. To save fuel and to protect my dad's poor BMW.

There is reason that I decried my dad's BMW is poor and it's true that the car's sturdy appearance lied and it has mere facade.
The car was 2nd hand and it had problem here and there.
First with engine, then with cooler, then with the speed meter blah blah blah.
My dad had contributed thousand and thousand bucks to repair the car whenever there was problem.
The time we went leave Genting and there was another car's problem.
When we visited my dad's friend who lives in a Mont Kiara's condominium,
my dad opened the car window of my seat when we passed through the security guardhouse.
DOOOP! The window went all the down to the bottom and hided inside!
Couldn't close back anymore!
It's like OMG......
Luckily there were roofed car park there.
After visiting his friend, wind blew and my hair flew all the way from Mont Kiara to my house in Sunway.
Problem arose as the rain decided to gush down from the heaven and drenched the world below.
My parents insisted to drive back to tampin with the rain spouting into the passengers' seat!
Not that it will wet but I thought I was very dangerous to do so.
Luckily rain stopped when they reached nilai and they were safe.
Finally my dad decided to change car cos he also cannot tahan anymore.
So my advice, never buy 2nd hand car, even if it's a BMW.
The condition of the car can be much worst than you can expect.

Bangkok shopping trip

Bangkok is a girls-gone-crazy shopping paradise
Whatever u want to buy, u name it, they have it.
And the most important is, the things are much cheaper than our country!

Just a few steps from my hotel there is this
Pratunam Market!
It is a wholesale market which means u can get to buy 3 free 1,
or a jeans short / dress as cheap as 100 baht (RM10)!

Besides the wholesale market, we also shop in the mall.
Platinum mall is the most famous clothing mall in Bangkok,
and is known as the best place in Bangkok to buy cheap yet good quality clothes!
My mum always says that Thailand is a place to buy cheap yet very good quality of bras and underwear, therefore she never let off the chance to buy as much as she could during the trip to Bangkok.
I never see such a cute hush poppy doll in Malaysia HP stores! =)

A small update of previous post be4 showing all my shopping conquest.
These are the instant cup noodles that my sis and I bought in 7/11 for supper in the hotel room
Tomyam flavour are superb cos soo hot that your stomach would burn!
Omg I miss them right now =(

All above are the items snatched from BangKok.
I think all those together were just costed me about RM300.
These 2 were bought from online recently when my bestie Kristin asked me to buy some.
You know I can't resist any temptations of shopping.....................

Wore immediately after I bought the sleeveless denim jacket =)

Nah end of the post!
